Mercedes, basking in the success of their 16-valve 190E 2.3 endurance run, take the 145mph flyer to Hockenheim circuit. Georg Kacher drives it
Right hand drive versions of the Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.3-16 are now available though sales will be restricted to 600 cars over the next eighteen months. As most readers will know, this car uses a 2.3 litre injected engine with a dohc 16 valve cylinder head designed and built by Cosworth Engineering. This gives 185bhp at 6,200 rpm and 168 lb/ft torque at 4,500 rpm.
