Vauxhall : Chevette

Model Introduction

The Vauxhall Chevette, launched in 1975, was the UK’s version of the global GM T-car platform, sharing its roots with the Opel Kadett C. Built at Ellesmere Port and styled with a distinctive droop-snoot front end by Wayne Cherry, it was Britain’s first domestically produced small hatchback and offered hatchback, saloon, and estate versions. Motorsport glory came with the rally-bred Chevette HS and HSR, fast and rare homologation specials that remain highly prized today.
