Rover : P5
Model Introduction
The Rover P5, introduced in 1958, embodied understated British luxury and became a favourite among government ministers and the Royal Family. Styled in-house under David Bache, it featured a dignified, formal saloon and later a stylish coupé roofline, both offering a richly appointed interior. Initially powered by a smooth 3.0-litre straight-six, it gained the 3.5-litre V8 in 1967, delivering improved performance without losing refinement. Built until 1973, the P5’s blend of traditional craftsmanship, comfort, and quiet authority has ensured its place as one of Rover’s most respected models.
