Renault : 21
Model Introduction
The Renault 21, launched in 1986, stood out for offering two distinct wheelbases within the same model range to accommodate different body styles, from the sleek saloon to the spacious Nevada estate. Styled under Gaston Juchet with crisp, modern lines, it featured a wide variety of engines mounted either longitudinally or transversely depending on the version. The Nevada, in particular, was praised for its huge load capacity and comfort on long journeys. High-performance Turbo and Quadra all-wheel-drive variants added sporting appeal, helping the R21 remain competitive in European markets until its replacement by the Laguna in the mid-1990s.
