Renault : 20

Model Introduction

The Renault 20, launched in 1975 alongside the more powerful Renault 30, shared the same hatchback body shell but was fitted with four-cylinder engines for lower running costs. Styled by Gaston Juchet, it offered generous interior space, a large rear hatch, and the supple ride comfort typical of Renault’s long-travel suspension. Higher-spec TX and Turbo Diesel versions broadened its appeal, and it gained a reputation for long-distance refinement, particularly in the French market. Built until 1984, the R20 is now appreciated as a well-engineered and practical executive-class hatchback of its era.
