Renault : 17
Model Introduction
The Renault 15 and 17, introduced in 1971, were stylish coupés based on the Renault 12 platform, offering a blend of practicality and flair. The 15 featured a fastback profile with a more restrained appearance, while the 17 adopted a sportier look with quadruple headlamps and, in some versions, a removable targa roof panel. Engines ranged from economical four-cylinders to more powerful Gordini-tuned units, and the 17 in particular enjoyed rally success in the mid-1970s. Built until 1979, these coupés are remembered for combining everyday usability with distinctive French design and a touch of motorsport pedigree.
