Opel Manta B
Model Introduction
The Opel Manta B, introduced in 1975, evolved the formula of its predecessor with a larger, more angular body and improved refinement, while retaining rear-wheel drive and balanced handling. In 1982 it received a significant facelift, known as the Manta B2, which brought flush-fitting headlights, aerodynamic bumpers, and a more modern interior. The range included notable performance versions such as the Irmscher-tuned i200, with distinctive body styling and upgraded suspension, and the rally-bred Manta 400, developed with Cosworth and celebrated for its success in Group B rallying. With its blend of everyday usability, motorsport pedigree, and striking special editions, the Manta B became one of Opel’s most enduring and charismatic coupés.
