Opel : Manta A

Model Introduction

The Opel Manta A, launched in 1970, was a stylish rear-wheel-drive coupé designed to take on the Ford Capri in the growing European sports coupé market. Styled under George Gallion with crisp lines, a long bonnet, and a distinctive coke-bottle waistline, it was offered with a range of four-cylinder engines and found success in both showroom sales and motorsport. Praised for its balanced handling and everyday practicality, the Manta A gave Opel a credible image boost and remains a sought-after example of 1970s German sporting style.
