Opel : Kadett C
Model Introduction
The Opel Kadett C, introduced in 1973, was the third generation of the Kadett and the last to use rear-wheel drive. Styled with clean, angular lines, it was offered in saloon, coupé, and estate forms, alongside the rare Kadett Aero, a targa-topped convertible built in limited numbers by Baur. Performance peaked with the Kadett GT/E, which featured fuel injection and enjoyed notable rallying success. Built in several countries and sold under different names, including the Vauxhall Chevette in the UK, the Kadett C earned a reputation for durability, versatility, and a simple, robust mechanical layout that appealed to both family car buyers and motorsport enthusiasts.
