Opel GT

Model Introduction

The Opel GT, produced from 1968 to 1973, was a sleek two-seater coupé often nicknamed the “baby Corvette” for its curvaceous styling penned by Erhard Schnell. Built on a modified Kadett B platform, it featured pop-up headlights that rotated rather than flipped, and a choice of 1.1- or 1.9-litre engines, the latter giving it lively performance for its size. With its low-slung stance, aerodynamic shape, and distinctive design details, the Opel GT offered affordable continental glamour and has since become a sought-after classic of the late 1960s sports car era.
