MG : Midget

Model Introduction

The MG Midget, introduced in 1961, was a compact and affordable British sports car that delivered simple, back-to-basics driving enjoyment. Initially based on the Austin-Healey Sprite, it evolved through several series with increasingly powerful A-Series and later Triumph-sourced engines, while retaining its light weight and nimble handling. Offered as a minimalist open two-seater with classic proportions, the Midget became a popular choice for club motorsport and spirited road driving, embodying MG’s tradition of accessible fun well into the late 1970s.

This Sprite that started normally enough now boasts an SS quarter mile time of 12.2 seconds and 0-60mph in (wait for it) four seconds, which must make it the fastest Sprout yet built.
