Alfa Romeo Montreal
Model Introduction
Originally shown as a concept at Expo 67, the Montreal made it to production with a detuned version of Alfa’s 2.6-litre V8. It was fast, refined, and full of character, with a Marcello Gandini design that turned heads then and now.
Geneva and after
May 1970 – CAR
Alfa's Montreal earns editorial praise for its Bertone-designed exterior as well as for its exciting dry sump four-cam V8, but the stylist has overstepped his brief when it comes to the interior. Instruments are contorted to fit inside elaborate pods ahead of the driver and the seating position is typically Alfa, with too little legroom and a wheel set too far from the vertical.
