Alfa Romeo are producing 500 examples of the Alfa 75 1.8 Turbo Evolution, allowing them to enter the World Touring Car Championships. In road-going trim, 155bhp will be on tap but an extra 70 million Lire (the best part of £34,000) buys a kit to update it to race trim. As well as flared wheel arches, new wider wheels and tyres, uprated suspension and brakes, the kit includes a new five-speed close-ratio gearbox and engine modifications that boost output to 280bhp, providing a top speed of some 174mph.
